Christine Campbell

Killer guitarist, a classically trained pianist, and a dynamic songwriter

A killer guitarist, a classically-trained pianist, a sincere, dynamic songwriter, and an incomparable singer; Christine Campbell is truly a rare, multi-faceted talent. Ranging from a raspy, rocking powerhouse to a soft, heartstring-tugging chanteuse, she brings entire audiences to a hush –  and then to their feet.

With a voice that combines the best elements of Anne Wilson, Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin, and a staggeringly awesome band (featuring Blake Johnston on guitar and vocals, Matt Johnson on Drums, Peter Davison on Keys, Guitar and Percussion, and Shaky White on bass), Christine Campbell is a mesmerizing musical force.

Christine is Prince Edward Island-born, now Halifax-based. She struck out on her own from her hard-rock band Stone Mary (winners of the 2011 MNS Best Loud album award), and 2013 marked the heralded release of her debut Solo album. Self-titled, the album is an acoustic, bluesy, stripped-down affair, “Christine Campbell”…the album…immediately garnered fantastic reviews. She has blown away Canadian Festival crowds at Cavendish Beach, StanFest, DutchFest, Riverfront Jubilee, Lunenburg Folk Fest, and many premiere Eastern Canada events.

All the while, the Press has praised her laurels. Newspapers, magazines, and online media take special note. Radio stations like CBC, Q104, CKBW, and XFM have played her tracks and/or featured her live in-studio, and has Christine made appearances on CBC-TV, CTV, Global and APTN’s Candy Show….3 times! She was deservedly nominated for Best New Artist in 2013 by Music NS. Her album made CBC’s Stan Carew’s Top 10 list for 2013.

Christine has been writing fascinating new songs with her new 5-piece Band in preparation for a new album in 2016. This new collection of songs will encompass the soul of Christine’s solo shows, the intimate energy of her duo shows with co-writer/guitarist Blake Johnston, and the rock/blues power of her outstanding band. She continues to tour non-stop…..lucky for us. She has deservedly earned the reputation of the strongest rock/blues voice from Eastern Canada in decades!
